Martian Gothic

Martian Gothic: Unification is a survival horror game developed by Creative Reality, with Coyote Developments handling the PlayStation version, and published by Take 2 Interactive. Set on a Martian base in 2019, it follows a three-person crew investigating months of radio silence, only to find the base overrun by reanimated dead. It leans heavily on writing and puzzles, and was Creative Reality’s final game.

Three Original variants are catalogued for PAL across the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. The earliest PAL release is recorded as 5 October 2001. All use a Full Jewel PAL case with one disc and carry Hologram B. Language coverage spans English, French, German, Italian and Spanish. One shared serial covers the UK, Spanish and Italian copies and the French one, while Germany has its own code.

Loose paperwork is documented in the form of a Take 2 Saxon House Registration Card, which is worth checking for when buying a copy.

The game came out late in the console’s life as a budget title and sold poorly, which has left it a cult curiosity. The registration card makes a complete copy a more desirable find.
