Madden NFL 99 is an American football video game developed by Tiburon Entertainment and published by EA Sports, released for the PlayStation in 1998. Notably, it was the first Madden title to introduce Franchise mode and the first fully 3D multiplatform entry in the series. For the PAL release, four variants have been catalogued, covering the UK, France, Germany, and a combined Italy and Spain pressing. All are Original releases presented in Full Jewel PAL cases and carry English-only content across a single disc. The European cover notably features running back Garrison Hearst rather than the John Madden image used in North America. The game was a strong commercial performer in 1998 and remains an interesting piece of late-1990s sports gaming history for PAL collectors.
