Madden NFL 98 is an American football simulation developed by Tiburon Entertainment and published by EA Sports, representing the first Madden title to receive significant critical acclaim for its artificial intelligence systems. It was the last Madden release for the SNES, Genesis, and Sega Saturn. PAL collectors will find three catalogued original variants covering the UK, Germany, and a combined France and Italy pressing, all sharing the same serial number. All releases are housed in Full Jewel PAL cases with a single disc, presented in English only. The earliest PAL release is dated 15 September 1997. The hologram types on the cases are unconfirmed. As a niche American sport title in the PAL region, complete examples in good condition are moderately scarce.
