LMA Manager is the first entry in Codemasters’ long-running football management series, developed and published by Codemasters and named after the League Managers Association. Unlike the PC-centric Football Manager and Championship Manager titles of the era, LMA Manager was console-focused and built around a fully 3D match engine, a distinctive feature at the time of its release. Two PAL variants are catalogued, covering the UK and Spain, with the UK release arriving on 15 September 1999. UK copies are presented in English in a Full Jewel PAL case on a single disc, while the Spanish variant carries the series’ regional title Manager de Liga. Some UK copies include loose paperwork in the form of a Codemasters Showcase Catalogue and a Brian Lara Cricket flyer, and UK cases have been documented with a rectangular gold No1 Bestseller sticker. The combination of loose paperwork and case sticker variants makes the UK pressing particularly interesting for condition-conscious collectors.
