Killing Zone is a one-on-one 3D fighting game developed by Scarab and published in PAL territories by Acclaim Entertainment, pitting classic monsters and mythological creatures against one another in arena combat. Frankenstein, Medusa, the Wolfman, and the Minotaur are among the roster, with fighting mechanics drawing influences from both Street Fighter II and Virtua Fighter. Originally released in Japan by Naxat Soft in March 1996, the PAL version arrived in September 1996. The game received a poor critical reception on release. Only one PAL variant has been catalogued, a broad multi-country Original pressing covering the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, and the Netherlands simultaneously in a Full Jewel PAL case without a hologram. Given its single-variant PAL footprint and limited critical legacy, this remains a modestly obscure title for collectors interested in the early PAL fighting game catalogue.
