Hugo

Hugo is a series of action games developed and published by ITE Media, based on the long-running Danish interactive television show of the same name. The games task players with guiding the troll Hugo through dangerous environments across simple minigame scenarios, closely mirroring the television show format. Eight PAL variants are catalogued, with releases from 10 October 1998 and covering Germany, the UK, Italy, and Spain, alongside four variants with no country assignment currently recorded. Language support spans eleven languages including Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Spanish, and Swedish. Hugo was developed exclusively for European markets and represents a distinctly European cultural artefact on PlayStation, most familiar to audiences in Nordic countries and Germany where the franchise had its greatest reach.
