Hugo

Hugo is a PlayStation outing for the Danish television troll of the same name, developed and published by ITE Media. The release adapts the early scenarios of the original interactive television show into a series of short minigames, with the player guiding Hugo through hazardous environments toward the recurring goal of rescuing his family or recovering hidden treasure.

The PAL landscape for this title is unusually broad on a language basis, with eight catalogued variants spanning the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal, Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden. Several disc serials reflect this localisation strategy, with regional groupings combining smaller territories under shared discs (notably the Scandinavian and Benelux pairings). The earliest catalogued release is dated 10 October 1998.

All eight variants ship in Full Jewel PAL cases as single-disc releases. The release type across the catalogued range is Original throughout, with no budget reissues recorded. Of particular interest for collectors is the depth of localisation, since the Hugo brand was developed for European markets and never received a US release.
