Hexen
SLES-00555
Initially Released 15 March 1997
Hexen: Beyond Heretic is a first-person shooter developed by Raven Software and published by GT Interactive Software, originally released for MS-DOS in 1995 before being ported to consoles in 1997. Set in a dark fantasy world, the game offers three distinct playable characters, a warrior, a mage, and a cleric, each with unique weapons and abilities, alongside non-linear level design that set it apart from other shooters of the era. The PAL PlayStation version has one variant catalogued, covering France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, and UK under serial SLES-00555. All releases use a Full Jewel PAL case with no hologram on the case, and the game ships on a single disc in English only. The PAL port was noted for technical compromises compared to the PC version, including reduced frame rates and simplified architecture, making the original PC release the preferred version among enthusiasts. A GT Yellow Registration Card is documented as loose paperwork with this release.
