Heart of Darkness

Heart of Darkness is a cinematic platform game developed by French studio Amazing Studios and originally published by Ocean before distribution passed to Infogrames, released in PAL territories in July 1998. Supervised by Eric Chahi, the creator of Another World, the game follows a boy named Andy who must save his dog from shadow-like spectres, across a narrative supported by around half an hour of animated cutscenes and a film score by Bruce Broughton. The PAL release landscape is exceptionally well documented, with 25 variants catalogued across France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, and the UK. Release types span Original, Platinum, Best Of Infogrames, and Value Series Best of Infogrames pressings, all in Full Jewel PAL cases with Hologram B throughout. Each country has its own dedicated serial for most release types. The game is a two-disc release across all variants. An Infogrames Blue Registration Card is documented as loose paperwork across several pressings. Heart of Darkness remains one of the more complex and thoroughly catalogued PAL release sets in the early PlayStation library.
