Ghost in the Shell
SCES-01050
Initially Released 31 July 1998
Ghost in the Shell is a 1997 third-person shooter developed by Exact and published by Sony Computer Entertainment, set within the larger Ghost in the Shell media franchise. The game’s story and art design were written and illustrated by Masamune Shirow, the manga’s original creator. Players control a Fuchikoma, a robotic fighting vehicle with the ability to traverse walls and ceilings, as a recruit of Public Security Section 9 investigating the Human Liberation Front. Four PAL variants are catalogued, released from 31 July 1998 and covering the UK, Italy, France, and Germany. UK and Italian copies share the SCES-01050 serial, while France and Germany each received dedicated codes. All variants use Full Jewel PAL cases on single discs with Hologram A stickers, with English, French, and German language support across the release. The game drew praise for its graphics and unusual wall-climbing mechanics, and is a well-regarded sci-fi collector piece.
