Front Mission 3

Front Mission 3 is a tactical role playing game developed and published by Squaresoft. It is the third main entry in the Front Mission series, following the stories of characters caught up in conflicts involving giant mecha known as wanzers. Released in Japan in 1999, it was the first title in the series to reach Europe, North America and Australia, which makes the PAL edition a significant one.

Four variants are catalogued, all of them Original releases covering the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. Each uses a Full Jewel PAL case with a single disc and a Hologram B on the case. Notably, the language is English throughout, so the regional differences come down to the packaging and barcodes rather than the game text. The earliest PAL release is catalogued as April 2000.

Squaresoft titles are consistently popular among PAL collectors, and Front Mission 3 is no exception thanks to its strong reputation among strategy fans. With only one release type and an identical case format across the board, completing a regional set is a manageable but satisfying goal for anyone who enjoys comparing country specific editions of the same game.
