Formula 1 97 is a racing game developed by Bizarre Creations and published by Psygnosis, based on the 1997 Formula One World Championship season. It was the last F1 title developed by Bizarre Creations before the studio moved on to create Metropolis Street Racer and Project Gotham Racing. Notably, it was the first in the Psygnosis Formula One series to feature a specific driver on the cover, with regional editions featuring Michael Schumacher, Olivier Panis, and others. PAL collectors will find ten catalogued variants spanning the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Greece, Netherlands, and Portugal across original and Platinum re-release types. All variants are housed in Full Jewel PAL cases with a single disc. Holograms on the case alternate between the standard type for originals and Hologram B for Platinum pressings. Several original variants are documented with loose paperwork including a Dual Analogue Flyer and a Manual Registration Card. The UK original is additionally noted with a bundled Radicalgames demo disc and a round blue case sticker.
