Final Fantasy VII
SCES-00867
Initially Released 14 November 1997
Final Fantasy VII is a role-playing game developed and published by Squaresoft, and the first main series Final Fantasy to receive a PAL release. Players follow Cloud Strife, an ex-soldier who joins the AVALANCHE group to oppose the Shinra corporation, in a story of materia, limit breaks and the pursuit of Sephiroth.
Eight PAL variants are catalogued, covering the UK, France, Germany and Spain, with the earliest release dated 14 November 1997. Each country has an Original pressing and a later Platinum reissue, with languages covering English, French, German and Spanish. All use the Multiway Jewel Three Disk case, holding the three discs, and the Platinum copies are recorded with a Hologram B.
A bundled Final Fantasy VIII demo is documented for the game, a notable extra for collectors to look out for.
As a landmark title with distinct regional editions and a clear Original versus Platinum split, it is a favourite among PAL collectors, and complete sets in good condition remain highly sought after.
