Epidemic

SCES-00393
Initially Released 14 June 1996

Epidemic, known in Japan as Kileak: The Blood 2: Reason in Madness, is a first-person shooter developed by Genki and published by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. A sequel to Kileak: The DNA Imperative, the game is set in a post-apocalyptic underground city called Neural City, where player character Masao Coda fights against the Byflos Group using a Protect Armor suit.

Only one PAL variant is currently catalogued, and it is a UK-exclusive release. The game is presented in the Mini Jewel Black Bordered PAL case format with a Hologram A on the case, making it one of the relatively few early PAL releases to use this hologram type. It contains a single English-language disc. The earliest PAL release date is 14 June 1996.

No loose paperwork or bundled demo discs have been documented. As a Sony first-party title with a UK-only PAL release and an early hologram variant, Epidemic is a worthwhile find for collectors interested in the first wave of PAL PlayStation software.

Collector Notes

Pay special attention to the placement of the hologram on this release. It should be mounted on the far left but above the PlayStation black label due to it not allowing room.
