Diablo

Diablo is a 1997 action role-playing game originally developed by Blizzard North and published by Blizzard Entertainment for Windows. The PlayStation version was developed by Climax Studios and published by Electronic Arts in 1998, adapting the game’s point-and-click movement to direct character control via the PlayStation controller. The game follows a lone hero descending through sixteen randomly generated dungeon levels beneath the town of Tristram to confront Diablo, the Lord of Terror, with each playthrough offering different quests and enemy combinations. Five PAL variants are catalogued, released from 15 April 1998 and covering the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands across single disc Full Jewel PAL cases with Hologram A stickers. Language support spans English, French, German, and Swedish. Diablo is widely considered one of the defining games of its era, and the PAL PlayStation release represents the format’s only console port of the original game, giving it lasting collector significance.
