SLES-00055
Initially Released 14 May 1996

Descent is a first-person shooter developed by Parallax Software and published by Interplay Productions, first released on PC in 1995 before being ported to the PlayStation. The game places players in a six degrees of freedom environment inside twisting mine complexes, piloting a spacecraft against robot enemies in the first FPS to feature entirely true-3D graphics.

The database catalogues two PAL variants, both Original releases dated 14 May 1996. One pressing covers France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Netherlands, while the other covers the UK, Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Denmark, each with their own EAN barcode. Both use Full Jewel PAL cases with no hologram on the case and contain a single English-language disc. No loose paperwork or bundled demos are documented across either variant.

The territorial split into a mainland European and a UK-Nordic pressing is an interesting distribution detail, and collectors seeking a complete Descent PAL set will need both editions.
