Descent II

Descent II is a first-person shooter developed by Parallax Software and published by Interplay, originally released for MS-DOS in 1996. The game places the player in control of a spacecraft navigating underground mines in six degrees of freedom, battling infected robots and destroying reactors before escaping. On PlayStation, the game was released under the title Descent Maximum in some regions. The single PAL variant catalogued carries serial SLES-00558, released on 2 May 1997, and covers the UK, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. The release ships in a Full Jewel PAL case with no hologram on the case, on a single disc in English. The PlayStation port received a mixed reception given the technical constraints of the hardware compared to the PC original. With one release covering a relatively small set of PAL territories, this is a moderatly uncommon title in complete condition.
