DBZ: Dead Ball Zone is a high-speed futuristic sports game developed by Rage and published by GT Interactive Software, pitting two teams of armed fighters against each other in a brutal hybrid of ball sport and combat. Players wield weapons including chainsaws, grenades, and machine guns alongside a full range of unarmed combat moves, combining sport and violence in a tongue-in-cheek package. Five PAL variants are catalogued, with releases from around June 1998 covering the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands, all on single disc Full Jewel PAL cases. Language support spans English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish across the release. Loose paperwork documented across the release includes GT Dark Purple and GT Light Purple Registration Cards, the latter noted specifically with the UK and Netherlands variant. A niche but entertaining title, with the multi-variant PAL landscape offering a reasonable spread of regional collecting interest.
