Crypt Killer
SLES-00292
Initially Released 15 May 1997
Crypt Killer is a light gun shooter developed by Konami Computer Entertainment and published by Konami, originating as a 1995 arcade game before being ported to PlayStation in 1997. Known in Japan as Henry Explorers, the game features 3D polygon environments alongside 2D sprite enemies, with a horror-tinged theme that balances atmosphere with accessible action. The PlayStation version is compatible with Konami’s own light gun peripheral, the Hyper Blaster, known in North America as The Justifier.
Two variants are currently catalogued in the database, covering the UK, Spain, the Netherlands, France, and Germany. All releases come in Full Jewel PAL cases with a hologram on the case, and are single-disk English-only releases. No loose paperwork or bundled demo discs have been documented. Of note, the two variants are distinguished by different cover artwork, with one featuring a black-themed front cover and the other a multicolour design. This packaging difference makes Crypt Killer a title worth paying close attention to when identifying specific editions in the wild.
