Colin McRae Rally is the debut entry in the long-running rally series developed and published by Codemasters, released for PlayStation in 1998. Based on the 1998 World Rally Championship season, the game features eight official cars and drivers across fifty stages in eight countries. It received generally favourable reviews and sold over four million copies worldwide by 2002. Nine PAL variants are catalogued for this title, covering the UK and Italy, with release types spanning Original, Platinum, No 1 Bestseller Codemasters, Value Series Black Label, and Value Series No 1 Bestseller. All variants are in Full Jewel PAL cases. The UK received the widest range of release types, with five distinct pressings. Italy received its own dedicated serials from a later point in the game’s release life, with the Italian variants including Hologram B on the case in contrast to the unspecified Hologram on the UK pressings.
