Civilization II

Civilization II is a turn-based 4X strategy game developed by MicroProse Software, originally published for PC in 1996 and later ported to the PlayStation by Activision. The game tasks players with building a civilisation from antiquity to the near future, managing exploration, diplomacy, research, and military conflict. The PlayStation port adapted the acclaimed PC title for console play, retaining the core strategic depth.

Five PAL variants are catalogued, covering the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain, each in a Full Jewel PAL case with Hologram B on the case, with language support specific to each territory on a single disc. Each variant carries a distinct serial and EAN barcode, released on 1 January 1999. Civilization II is a prestige strategy title with enduring appeal, and the per-territory serial structure makes the PAL set of some interest to collectors tracking localised releases.
