Chocobo Racing is a kart-style racing game developed and published by Squaresoft, a spin-off from the Final Fantasy series starring the Chocobo alongside familiar faces such as Mog the Moogle, the Black Mage and Cid. Much of the soundtrack reworks music from earlier Final Fantasy games, and the game is often compared with Mario Kart and Crash Team Racing. It supports one and two player racing, with weapons to use against rivals.

The PAL release landscape is simple, with a single catalogued variant. This Original pressing is dated 15 December 1999 and covers the UK, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands and Spain. It is English language only, housed in a Full Jewel PAL case with one disc and a Hologram B on the case.

Because one pressing served the whole of Europe, there are no regional alternatives to chase, which keeps the collecting task easy. For Final Fantasy fans, it remains a charming and relatively affordable piece of Squaresoft merchandise on the PAL shelf.
