Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
SLES-00524
Initially Released 2 November 1997
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is a 1997 action RPG developed and published by Konami, widely regarded as one of the greatest video games ever made. The game follows Alucard, Dracula’s dhampir son, exploring a non-linear castle in a style that re-introduced exploration and RPG elements to the Castlevania series. Despite initially modest sales, it became a sleeper hit and ultimately sold over 700,000 copies in the US and Japan alone. Four PAL variants are catalogued across France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, and the UK, covering both Original and Enhanced Edition release types. Original pressings are in Full Jewel PAL cases, while the Enhanced Edition variants are housed in Multiway Jewel Two Disk cases. All variants carry Hologram A on the case. The Enhanced Edition is a Collector’s Edition containing an art book and soundtrack CD alongside the standard manual, making it among the most sought-after PAL variant releases for this title. A Castlevania Music Collection demo disc is bundled with the Enhanced Edition variants.
