Carnage Heart
SCES-00441
Initially Released 10 May 1997
Carnage Heart is a turn-based tactics game developed by ArtDink and published by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, set in the year 2073 on the moons of Jupiter where war is fought entirely by programmable mecha called Overkill Engines. Unlike most mech games, players cannot directly control their units in battle, instead programming them in advance using a flow diagram system, making it a uniquely strategic experience.
Five PAL variants are currently catalogued, each a distinct national original release covering the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain. All five share the same serial SCES-00441 and are presented in the Mini Jewel Black Bordered PAL case format with a Hologram A on the case. Language coverage across all variants includes English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. All are single-disc releases with no loose paperwork or bundled demos documented. The earliest PAL release date is 10 May 1997.
The five separate national pressings make Carnage Heart a rewarding completionist target, and its unusual programming-based gameplay gives it enduring appeal among collectors interested in more unconventional PS1 titles.
