Bushido Blade
SCES-00899
Initially Released 2 February 1998
Bushido Blade is a one-on-one fighting game developed by LightWeight and published by Squaresoft, drawing its name and ethos from the Japanese warrior code of honour. The game is notable for its innovative Body Damage System, in which a single well-placed blow can end a duel, and for its vast three-dimensional environments. PAL collectors will find five catalogued original variants covering the UK, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Portugal, and Greece. Unusually for a PAL PlayStation release of this era, all variants are housed in the smaller Mini Jewel Black Bordered PAL case format with a single disc, and are all presented in English only. The earliest PAL release is dated 2 February 1998. The hologram types on the cases are unconfirmed. Bushido Blade’s distinct format and gameplay mechanics give it strong collector appeal, particularly in complete and good condition.
