Burning Road

SLES-00345
Initially Released 15 November 1996

Burning Road is a 1996 arcade racing game developed by Toka and published by Softgold, heavily inspired by Sega’s Daytona USA. Players choose from four vehicle types including muscle cars, a drag car, and a monster truck, racing across three distinct courses in a checkpoint-based time attack format.

Only one PAL variant is currently catalogued, covering a broad European footprint including the UK, Spain, the Netherlands, France, Germany, and Italy. The release is presented in a Full Jewel PAL case with no hologram on the case, and contains a single English-language disc. The earliest PAL release date is 15 November 1996.

No loose paperwork or bundled demo discs have been documented. As a title published by the relatively obscure Softgold label and sharing obvious DNA with a major Sega arcade hit, Burning Road occupies a niche corner of the PAL PS1 library, and a clean copy with intact case is a tidy find for collectors of mid-1990s arcade racers.
