Blasto is a 3D third-person shooter and platformer developed by Sony Interactive Studios America and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation, released in PAL territories in 1998. The game features the heavily muscular and self-styled hero Captain Blasto, voiced by the late Phil Hartman, as he battles the alien overlord Bosc across a series of planetary environments. Despite a significant marketing push from Sony, the game was met with mixed reviews citing frustrating controls and repetitive level design. Four PAL variants are catalogued across a multi-territory set, covering the UK alone, a UK and Scandinavian combined pressing, a central European pressing covering France, Italy, Germany, and the Netherlands, and a southern European pressing covering Spain, Portugal, and Greece. All are original releases in Full Jewel PAL cases on a single disc, released on 31 March 1998, with five language support across the set.
