Ayrton Senna Kart Duel is a 3D karting game developed and published in Japan by Gaps, released under licence from the Ayrton Senna Foundation with technical input from Yamaha and Dunlop, and distributed in Europe by Sunsoft. The game pays tribute to the legendary Brazilian racing driver, who won three Formula One World Championships with McLaren before his death in 1994. Only one PAL variant has been catalogued, a multi-country Original pressing covering the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain released in December 1996, in a Full Jewel PAL case. The Senna licence and Japanese development origin give this title a distinctive place in the PAL karting catalogue, and its relatively limited distribution across five territories in a single pressing reflects the niche but heartfelt appeal of the Senna name in European motorsport culture.
