Armored Core is a third-person mech action game developed by FromSoftware and published in Europe by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, the first entry in the long-running Armored Core series. Players join the mercenary organisation Raven’s Nest, selecting from a vast array of modular parts to customise their mech before taking on missions for various corporate clients in a post-cataclysm underground Earth.

Four PAL variants have been catalogued, covering the UK, France, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands. All are Original releases in Full Jewel PAL cases with a single disc each, supporting English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. The UK, France, and Germany each received dedicated pressings under the same serial SCES-00842, alongside a broader combined continental pressing. All share a release date of 31 October 1997.

Armored Core was critically well-received for its customisation depth and multiplayer mode, and it launched the FromSoftware mech franchise that has continued to the present day. PAL copies are genuinely collectable as the starting point of this now-iconic series.
