Arcade’s Greatest Hits: The Atari Collection 1 is a compilation of classic Atari arcade games developed by Digital Eclipse Software and published in PAL territories by GT Interactive Software, released in December 1997. The collection brings together six games from what was known as the Golden Age of Atari, supplemented on the PlayStation and Saturn versions by an FMV documentary featuring interviews with the original programmers. A successor to Williams Arcade’s Greatest Hits, this compilation leans into the nostalgia market that was already well established by the late 1990s. Only one PAL variant has been catalogued, a broad six-country Original pressing covering the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands in a Full Jewel PAL case with a Hologram A on the case. As a single-variant release with wide simultaneous distribution, this is a straightforward entry for collectors tracing the PAL retro compilation market of the era.
