Alundra

Alundra, released in Europe as The Adventures of Alundra, is an open-world action-adventure game developed by Matrix Software and published by Psygnosis in PAL territories in June 1998. Players control the young dreamwalker Alundra, who can enter the nightmares of villagers in the coastal settlement of Inoa to battle the evil threatening their minds and lives. The gameplay emphasises exploration, puzzle-solving, and real-time combat, and the narrative deals with mature themes including death and religion, growing progressively darker as the game progresses. Seven PAL variants are catalogued, released from 30 June 1998 and covering the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark. Language support spans English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. Some UK copies feature an Alundra Free Inside case sticker, suggesting a bundling promotion at launch. A highly regarded cult RPG that repays collector attention.
