Allied General
SLES-00417
Initially Released 10 July 1997
Allied General is a turn-based wargame developed by Strategic Simulations and published by Mindscape, set during World War II and casting the player as an Allied commander fighting through campaigns in North Africa, Western Europe, and Russia. A sequel to Panzer General, the game was notably retitled Panzer General II in Germany, where the Panzer General branding held greater recognition.
Two PAL variants are currently catalogued, both Original release type. Separate pressings exist for the UK and Germany, each with a distinct EAN barcode, though sharing the same serial SLES-00417. Both are presented in Full Jewel PAL cases with no hologram on the case, and both are single English-language disc releases. No loose paperwork or bundled demo discs have been documented. The earliest PAL release date is 10 July 1997.
The separate UK and German pressings, despite sharing a serial, make Allied General a minor but interesting two-variant set for collectors of strategy and wargame titles on the PAL PS1.
