This is the first update since March, so it covers 6 months rather than the usual one. In that time 415 variants were added, and 55.3% of the games now have a written description.
686 of those games are known from a single variant. The other 782 account for 4,007 variants between them: regional pressings, Platinum reissues and budget-label re-releases. Together they come from 167 publishers and 561 developers.
The game count is 10 lower than in March. Entries that turned out to be the same game under a duplicate or alternate title were merged, and unreleased or cancelled games were removed, since the database only tracks games that were actually released.

The catalogue has grown by 62% since November 2025. 24% of variants had a barcode number then, 76% do now. Photography is the slow line, because it needs the game in hand.
How complete is it?
Share of all 4,693 variants, with the change since March.
Photo coverage has not moved as a percentage: 38 more variants were photographed, but the catalogue grew just as fast. Written descriptions went from 474 games to 812 (55.3% of all games).

The PAL library by year
Games by the year of their first PAL release.
2000 was the peak with 285 games. 23 games have no dated variant yet and are left out.
How many variants does a game have?
Number of games by how many variants they have.
Most games have one variant, and then there is a bump at five: the classic pattern of a separate release each for the UK, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. The longest lists belong to games that were localised country by country and then reissued on budget labels.
Where they were sold
A variant can be sold in more than one country, so these add up to more than the total. 866 variants have no country recorded yet.
Languages
The most common combination is English only (1,552 variants), followed by English, French, German, Italian and Spanish together (671).
Release types
79.6% of variants are launch releases. The 959 re-releases break down like this:
Where the gaps are
- 828 of 959 re-releases have no release date, against 18 of the 3,734 launch releases.
- 4,244 variants have no front cover photo.
- 1,115 variants have no barcode number, 866 have no country and 765 have no case type.
Beyond the games themselves, the database now lists 140 case stickers, 268 pieces of loose paperwork and 778 demos.
